Sable Kitchen & Bar: Classic Era Atmosphere in Chicago's River North Neighborhood

Step into Sable Kitchen & Bar. Discover what you've been waiting for: A new American gastro-lounge that artfully reinstates the cocktail to its rightful throne, a place where you'll lose yourself in a menu of Chef Heather Terhune's soul-satisfying social plates of delectable hors d'oeuvres, fresh fish, meats, sustainable selections from the farm and garden, alongside a collection of hand-crafted brick-oven flatbreads.

Adjacent to Kimpton's Hotel Palomar Chicago, Sable is a refreshing update for today, where the glamour of the 1940's mingles effortlessly with modern industrial touches. The effect is undeniably chic and immensely comfortable.

Executive Chef Heather Terhune and Bartender John Stanton compete in Seasonal Slam

With one competition already under their belts, Chef Tom Van Lente and Head Bartender Graham Crowe of TWO (1132 W. Grand Ave.) are hungry for their next challengers in the restaurant's second installment of Seasonal Slam. TWO's dynamic duo is set to go toe-to-toe and chop-for-chop against Sable Kitchen & Bar's Chef Heather Terhune and Bartender John Stanton. On Sunday, January 25, temperatures in the kitchen will really heat up as guests become epicurean judges, voting for the best dish and cocktail per course that must feature: blood oranges, cauliflower, and sweet potatoes. The restaurant team with the most votes at the end of the dinner will be crowned winner. Seasonal Slam starts with a festive cocktail reception at 5 p.m., with the seated dinner to start at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $105, including of food, drink, tax, and tip, and can be purchased online here.
